LEVELS
Please note!
- In general we aim for less focus on levels, and more focus on individual development. Thus you may return to the same level many years in a row.
- The skill level within a group is bound to vary, and we recommend you keep a positive mindset in order to create a joyful atmosphere for everyone.
- You'll find more info about all levels below. If you are unsure of which one to pick, please contact us first.

"HEP KITTENS" (LINDY HOP, GROUP 1)
You're fairly new to lindy hop and have probably danced anywhere from a couple of months to about a year or so (or more, if you wish to progress at a slower, more manageable pace). You know your basic footwork and you attend classes on a regular basis. You're curious about the social dance floor (although you may not feel totally comfortable with social dancing just yet). You wish to learn more about how to improve your flow while keeping a steady beat, and to add fun movements to your repertoire.
"HEP CATS" (LINDY HOP, GROUP 2)
You have been dancing actively for anywhere between just over a year to several years, and consider yourself an intermediate dancer. You attend classes as well as social dances on a regular basis. You're familiar with 6- and 8-counts, you're able to mix your basic steps, and you try your best to listen to the music when dancing. You wish to improve your technique, sense of rhythm, and to learn some fun and challenging new moves. This is a good level to re-visit a couple of times before moving on to the next.
"WILD HEP CATS" (LINDY HOP, GROUP 3)
To register for this group you should be comfortable at an intermediate advanced level, or an advanced level (if you wish to take things a bit easy). You've been dancing actively for many years, you social dance regularly, and you've attended many dance workshops. You have no problem with different tempos, or varying your footwork. You listen to both your partner and the rhythm changes in the music, and you're familiar with other swing related dances such as solo jazz. This is a good level to re-visit a couple of times before moving on to the next.
"ROARING HEP CATS" (LINDY HOP, GROUP 4)
You're a seasoned dancer who has been dancing actively for many years, probably more than a decade. You social dance regularly and you've attended lots of dance workshops, even if that meant auditioning for your level. Perhaps you even teach at your local scene? You listen to both your partner and the rhythm changes in the music, and you're familiar with other swing related dances such as solo jazz. And, perhaps most importantly, you're not afraid to rehearse your basics and deepen your understanding of the way you connect with others through the dance.
