"Lina and Carla are the founders of Ritz Lindy Hoppers and they are responsible for bringing the lindy hop scene to Vaasa. Why? Well, they did it partially for selfish reasons. They wanted to be able to dance themselves and therefore had to teach others to dance first!
Lina first learned lindy hop in London in 1999, and some years later she dragged Carla along to Herräng Dance Camp from where there was no return. For these two teachers the most important thing, their number one priority, when it comes to lindy hop is that it should be fun. It's all about enjoying the happy spirit of the dance. No matter what mood you're in when you go out to dance lindy hop you always come home with a smile. This feeling of happiness and belonging is what Lina and Carla try to focus on both in their teaching style and in the way they administer the society." |
